Kitchen Corner: BBQ Sauce

Mary’s version of homemade BBQ Sauce:

2 cups Ketchup

1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar

1/4  cup Brown Sugar

2 Tbl Honey

1 Tbl Worcester Sauce

1 Tbl Lemon Juice

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp dry mustard

blend until smooth.  Sometimes I will use it right away.

If I have time, I will heat it up in a  medium saucepan over medium heat. Allow the sauce to bubble and then reduce the heat and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes. This helps to deepen the flavors and thicken the sauce.

If you have prepared this sauce as a make-ahead recipe to use for meal prep, you can allow it to cool slightly and then pour it into a quart-size mason jar. Seal it with a tight-fitting lid and store in the refrigerator to use for quick and easy meals throughout the week!
