I’ve been blessed enough to spend more than three decades behind the mic as a radio personality across the country. At my core, I’m a New Englander – born and raised in Connecticut – and no matter where life takes me, I somehow always end up back home – especially right here at Star 92.9, where I spent the early to mid-2010’s.
Growing up, I always knew I’d be an entertainer, even though I was painfully shy and awkward. Turns out, that worked out perfectly because in radio, awkwardness is kind of a superpower. And the best part? I can be in my pajamas, working on my third cup of Top Ramen, and no one knows. Radio magic.
What never stops amazing me is the impact of radio. It is powerful in a quiet, human way. You don’t really understand it until a listener tells you you’ve been their companion on the drive to chemo treatments, or someone comes up at an event remembering a story you told years ago, or you’re helping bring a community together through historic wildfires, floods, or a global pandemic. Those moments stick. They’re why I keep showing up.
For the past 20 years, I’ve also been knee deep in voiceovers – working with businesses big and small on everything from phone systems and on-hold messaging to national radio and TV ads, corporate narration, audiobooks, film, and video games. I’m also an accredited IMDb member, which sounds very fancy until you realize I still record some things in fuzzy socks. And yes, Tara-AI is coming soon . . because apparently one version of me isn’t enough.
When I’m not in my home studio, I’m competing for my annual title: Mom of the Year (self-appointed, but still valid). I’m raising three amazing kids – one with severe and beautifully complex “neuro spice”. I enjoy pouring my creativity into redesigning my home and playing in the dirt sculpting gardens, and the peaceful waterfall I built in my front yard – quite randomly – because why not? I live with a lot of gratitude, strong faith, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.
Thanks for hanging out with me – Monday through Friday, midnight to 5am, and Saturdays midnight to 6am. I’ll bring the stories . . you bring the coffee.
