This Sunday it’s the Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department’s Fourth Annual Mark Dragoon Memorial Golf Tournament. This event helps to fund much needed Swift Water Rescue Funding for Clinton, Essex, and Franklin County of NY as well as Vermont and all of New York State when requested. KVFD has received International recognition for their efforts in 2008 from the Higgins and Langley Foundation http://higginsandlangley.org/ as well as winning second place in the Firedog Across America Contest sponsored by Circuit City. In order to continue protecting the public during swift water emergencies they need ongoing financial support.
The contacts for this fund raiser are KVFD volunteers Regina Davis at 518-593-2552 or Dan Costin at 518-578-4730. The Fire Departments address is 8 Pleasant Street, Keeseville, NY 12944.
This Golf Tournament has been organized in memory of Mark Dragoon who tragically drown in the Ausable River in 2006. It was the fine volunteers of KVFD Swift Water Rescue, SARNAC, and over 300 professional and off the street volunteers that brought Mark Dragon home in June 2006. They are all truly heroes and deserving of the support of the North Country.
