Mary’s Kitchen Corner: Peanut Butter Pattie Caramel Turtles

I searched for this recipe and I was presented with this..

Making turtle candies with Girl Scout cookies is a quick, semi-homemade treat, often using Peanut Butter Patties® (or Tagalongs®) to provide a crunchy, chocolatey base combined with caramel and pecans.

Here is a popular recipe for Girl Scout Cookie Nutty Caramel Turtles.

Peanut Butter Patties® Caramel Turtles

  • Prep time: 10 mins
  • Cook time: 5-7 mins
  • Yields: 1 dozen

Ingredients:

  • 6 Girl Scout Peanut Butter Patties® or Tagalongs® cookies (halved)
  • 6 caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 30 pecan halves (for the legs and head)
  • 2 milk chocolate bars (broken into small pieces)
  • Parchment paper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Assemble Base: Place the 12 chocolate bar pieces 2 inches apart on the baking sheet. Top each piece of chocolate with one unwrapped caramel candy.
  3. Bake: Bake for 5-7 minutes, just until the caramel starts to soften.
  4. Shape the Turtle: Remove from the oven. Immediately press one pecan half on one side for the head, and four pecan halves on the corners for the legs.
  5. Add Cookie & Set: Place one halved Peanut Butter Patty on top of each caramel/pecan cluster, pressing down gently to secure.
  6. Cool: Allow the turtles to sit until the caramel and chocolate have fully set.
