If you’re a Mom to be and you like free stuff….you’re in the right place! Back in February, I starting scrolling through EVERYTHING I could possibly find to put on my baby registry. The best stroller, the safest car seat, the latest thing-a-ma-bob. In all the infinite scrolling it discovered over and over again….free stuff!
I love these freebies due to the variety. It can give you the opportunity to try different brands and styles of items to allow you to decide what you AND baby like without investing much upfront.
Some links were legit…some just send you spam e-mails or coupons for junk. Well…I’ll save you some scrolling…here’s the breakdown:
(Disclaimer: I have not been paid to endorse these sites, stores or items, this is all searching and receiving of awesome free baby stuff of my own free will. ALSO…these companies seem to change up the contents and brands so what I got may be slightly different)
When you sign up for a baby registry at Target, they reward you with a big Bag of freebies! Go to their site, start a registry and stop by the store customer service desk and they’ll give you a “welcome kit” filled with coupons and samples for both you AND baby! Great mini samples, nice little tote bag BIG book of Target coupons, and 2 2 bottles (one by Advent the other Dr. Brown) Honest brand diapers, pacifier…. Here’s what was in mine:

Amazon’s registry rewards has a couple extra steps but trust me….it’s WELL worth it! Sign up for registry, add all the items your little heart desires and wait. Amazon doesn’t make their welcome box available until someone buys at least $10 worth of items off your registry. Huggies samples, Lansinoh samples, Dreft, Honest diapers, Huggies….AND a Dr Brown’s Bottle, Swaddle/blanket and and ADORABLE onesie. You could probably cheat, add something you need anyway, buy it and get your gift in advance. Someone bought a bunch of stuff off my registry a few weeks ago, I went to my registry, and in the corner it will say “Claim Your Welcome Box” add it to your cart, check out and wait for all these cool goodies to arrive:

I know…I know…another registry…Technically I now have just 2 Amazon and this. The cool thing about Baby List is you can add stuff to your registry from ANYWHERE. I have gift cards on there for Once Upon a Child, stuff from Etsy and directly from sites like Graco or Fisher Price. PLUS, another reason I LOVE this site is it gives the gift givers options on which sites have the best buy! A bib, a pampers sample kit (with little travel bag, handy to throw misc things into before you toss it into a diaper bag) a registry booklet/checklist with product comparisons, lansinoh pads/breastmilk bags, a bib, nanobaby breastmilk bags, pacifier & pacifier pouch and MY FAVORITE part….cards you can put in your shower invites that say you’re registered at BabyList (I’m planning on adding a sticker at the bottom of those cards for our Amazon registry ,too)
You do have to pay $6.99 in shipping but you get a TON of stuff. As for the freebies….check this out:

Enfamil
Belly Badges! Let’s face it, you’ll be taking TONS of photos of the little one…mark those milestones with free Belly Badge Stickers from Enfamil (milestones, first smile etc, holidays, or age) Plus then send you some great coupons if you’re going to be using formula. Even if you’re not, if Enfamil sends you samples and you plan on breastfeeding…donate them to a local women’s shelter or friend!

This one has 3 different options, the free pregnancy box (which is what I got), parents box, or baby gift box (and subcategories in each). You do have to pay shipping for the free one and it had much less than what I expected as compared to others. $6.95 seems like a flop for a bunch of samples BUT some of the other boxes seemed neat to send as a gift.

This company has an interesting angle. It’s more about education AND reward. TONS of coupons and educational materials about allergies, SIDS, (and a little baggie to collect stuff, I’m currently using it to hold coupons and samples). In places in Europe they send a new Mom a cardboard box for baby to sleep in and a bunch of samples. Like a baby starter kit. A newborn sleeping in this simple box may seem odd but they’ve found this program in Finland has helped it achieve one of the world’s lowest infant mortality rates! State-side…we get some sweet freebies. One hoop to jump through, watch some educational videos, take a quiz then get the free stuff. Which includes the usual samples and coupons but also a cute little onesie!

If you’re considering breastfeeding…there’s a TON of options for pumps, bags, pads, this attachment, that app. Medela will send you a small sampling of their products, some lotion, bags, pads and a sanitizing bag. It’s the smallest of the free sample hauls I’ve gotten but I think it’s worth it to have some options to try before you buy.

Free Books
I’m not 100% sure how this one will work as I have to wait until the little bundle of scream joy is born BUT in an effort to increase the literacy rate, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library will send your child books! It varies upon where you live, so you have to type in your address before you get started. You can NEVER have too many books!
Insurance/Local
This may seem obvious but check with your medical insurance provider. I had no idea there was a special program just for expecting parents. Some providers can cover your breast pump, birthing or baby CPR/First aid classes, even a car seat could be covered! Check around on facebook, network with other moms and really look at those bulletin boards at your appointments. Heck, I went to pick up a couple of pint-sized Adirondack chairs for $5 off Craigslist and they threw in a regular stroller and an umbrella stroller! JACKPOT!
There’s opportunities everywhere! Some one told me the other day there’s a “New Mom’s Club” at Once Upon a Child with gifts, deals and discounts for expecting and new Moms. I’m certainly checking that out!
