Apple picking season! I pick more apples then I need! Finding the perfect apple is like finding gem, so I pick them all until I can’t carry the heavy bag of apples. So I don’t waste any of these delicious Vermont candy – I find as many recipes as I can to enjoy the apples! The name alone “Apple NACHOS” grabbed my attention and I’m sure you can vary it. I would LOVE to hear how you changed it up!!
APPLE NACHOS!!
Chocolate peanut butter powder or peanut butter
2 tbsp(s)
Water
Or 2 tbsp of Peanut Butter (Almond Butter would be DELISH!)
3 tbsp(s), divided
Plain fat free Greek yogurt
2 tbsp(s)
Honey
1 tsp(s)
APPLES
1 large, cored and very thinly sliced
Mini semisweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp(s)
Instructions
- Combine peanut butter powder and 2 tablespoons water in a small bowl, stirring until smooth. Combine yogurt, honey, and remaining 1 tablespoon water in another small bowl, stirring until smooth.
- SLICE APPLES AND the slices on a large plate. Drizzle with yogurt sauce, then peanut butter sauce. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
- Serving size: ½ of nachos
To use this method to prevent apples from turning brown, create a water bath for your apple slices with a ratio of 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to 1 cup of water. Soak the apple slices for 3 to 5 minutes, then drain and rinse them. This simple step should keep your apples from browning for several hours.
