Lana & Nolan In The Morning

I was born and raised in the heart of Southern California's San Fernando Valley...(a true Valley girl, yes, I was even born in "Valley Hospital"!) My childhood was a busy one...from about age 9 on, I owned horses and was traveling the West Coast horse show circuit most weekends. My dad worked behind the camera in TV and features, as a second assistant director, so I got to hang out on many sets and did occasional work as an extra on some really bad 70's TV shows. I attended Cal State Northridge for awhile, and ended up running off to North Lake Tahoe in my early 20's to be a ski bum, an experience I wouldn't trade for the world. I started dating a local radio personality, and when he told me he had just gotten a job in Albany, NY, I decided to go with him. I spent 2 years there, (seemed like 20!) but the high point was attending radio school...after 10 weeks of learning what-button-did-what, I got my first job ...back at Lake Tahoe!! Five-days-in-the-car (with an angry cat)and 3000 miles later I began my radio career at the now defunct KLKT, Incline Village, Nevada. And six months after that...I got a job offer in the Champlain Valley and made another cross-country trip, (the cat was really hating me by then) and here I've been for the past 19 years. When I'm not hanging out with Nolan on "Lana and Nolan in the Morning," I hang out with my kitty, "Carmella TiAmo"; work on my new condo, (favoirte tool: compound mitre saw!) look for antiques, watch HGTV (I want my own fix-it show someday and I want to build a house!) snowboard at Smuggs in the winter, and plan trips to ride the world's scariest roller coasters.
P.S...I love the 80's!

Bonjour, Bonjour from Nolan!  Having a ball everyday with Lana (yep, she really rocks in an 80’s kind of way) (she might be my evil step-sister separated at birth) (Do I over-use parenthesis?)  I hope you’re having as much fun listening!

I feel very lucky to have come full circle back home to Burlington by way of Boston, Baltimore and Washington D.C.  And even though much of the area has changed I’m thankful that everyone is still warm and friendly.  For the last ten years I was a News Director in D.C., raised a family in Virginia and battled a lot of traffic.  I created a literacy program at area elementary schools, ran a few marathons for the MS Society and joined Vermont Senator Jim Jeffords with the literacy program Everybody Wins when adults read to children.  All this from not the brightest graduate of Rice High!  There may have been some good seed planted when I grew up here and even in spite of it, I managed to succeed.

My best friend Theresa, from Mississippi, is still adjusting to the extreme temperatures and snow.  I’m giving her driving-in-the-snow lessons, which she is paying for by feeding me.  My girls, Chelsea is preparing for Berklee School of Music in Boston and Ashley is attending a Community College in Annapolis Maryland.  My wife and I rescued two awesome Bearded Collies, Elvis and Nunzio.  I also serve two cats, Bella and Gizmo.  The kids only let me name Elvis the dog.

Life is great and thanks for listening!
